My question is does washing your hair everyday cause hair loss? I chose this question because to be honest I wash my hair almost every day. I just feel gross if I do not wash it. I have gotten better of this habit because I have learned that it can possibly cause damage and hair loss. I want to know more about and know what actually happens to my hair and if it is a bad habit. It is important, because the answer may lie in the types of shampoo that are being used. If people are buying shampoo that is damaging their hair they should know about it. They may need to switch shampoos that work with their hair or just wash it less frquently. I expect to find that it does damage the hair, causing it to fall out, and that the shampoos that are being used contribute to the problem. I understand that if someone’s hair is oily they have a reason to wash it every day but if not than it is not good for the hair. I feel that it does cause damage and that after researching what washing my hair almost every day does to it I will change my ways. I would just like to know the result of washing it everyday and the factors that contribute to the hair falling out. I know that it is going to change my decision from what I do now, because when I learn more things change.
Krishna, This topic is very narrow but I think you can already tell all the different "places" your research could take you. Looking at toxicity levels of different commercial shampoos is really interesting. Can products sold as "healthy hair" shampoos really be hurtful - at an even deeper level than the health of our hair and scalps? How else might you expand your inquiry question?
ReplyDeleteI was immediately intrigued by this topic, because I'm the same exact way about my hair. I wash it every day, because it gets so greasy overnight. I constantly look for shampoo that will strengthen or repair my hair, but what if they're just making it worse? I love this topic, but there are many different ways you can go with your research, which can be confusing in itself. Maybe you could even go in the route of styling your hair as well- The effects of a straightening iron or a curling iron on your hair (because I know most girls use these every day, including myself).
ReplyDeleteDo certain foods affect the levels of grease in one's hair?
If you use lots of hair products, will that damage your hair as well as shampooing daily?
Does brushing your hair a lot make it weak and brittle?
