Post 3: Reading
From the reading, when writing my essay I need to incorporate the audience and think about their opinion and how they are going to react to my issue. I also have to think of who will be reading my essay will it be scholars or students. When academically writing this essay it will be written to my classmates and professor but also to people that are interested in which shampoos can be harmful to them. There is a much broader range of audience then since everyone uses shampoo on a daily basis. I would assume it would be the older generation that will care more about their hair because it is falling out and they would want to use shampoo that is going to keep it longer lasting and healthier. Teens care about their hair but as long as it is not falling out and it smells good then everything is ok. My topic is defiantly timely because people use shampoos everyday and they need to know which ones are the best and worst. They need to know that the most expensive ones are the ones that are better for them in the long run. When a shampoo costs ninety nine cents such as Suave shampoo there is nothing that can be good about it. The toxicity levels are enormously high and it can damage the hair intensively. I am still debating on why the FDA still approves these types of shampoos still to be on the shelves of stores. I care about this topic because every girl loves her hair and I want to know what will make it healthy without damaging it. I use dove right now but I change it very often because I am not sure which shampoo is the best for me. After researching various types of shampoos I will learn what is in them and what it is doing to my hair. In high school they just want a paper so that they could give us a quick grade to say we have “learned” it. In reality we learned nothing. In college they want us to get more out of our topic and learn so that it can be used in future reference. I could use this topic in the future sometime and it is going to help me out in the long run because I will know what shampoos to buy. I have so many viewpoints because I am thinking of the FDA and then which shampoos are better for my hair type. I have learned so far that in Suave shampoo the FDA does not even approve more than half the chemicals that go into the shampoo so it is not safe what so ever.
